
Drive-By Shooting on I-82 near Outlook Leaves Two Injured
Authorities are searching for a suspect in a drive-by shooting reported March 20 in the lower Yakima Valley. Washington State Patrol Trooper Chris Thorson says the shooting was reported at about 12:50 am on I-82 near Outlook.
THE VICTIMS WERE SIMPLY DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WHEN SHOT
He says an unknown vehicle pulled alongside the victim's car and fired multiple shots into the vehicle. Two of the four people inside the victim vehicle, a Nissan were injured and taken to area hospitals for treatment and emergency surgery. No names of any of the victims have been released. Thorson says the suspect vehicle was believed to be occupied by three to four people.
THE UNKNOWN SUSPECT VEHICLE FLED THE AREA AFTER THE SHOOTING
He says after the shooting the suspect vehicle continued westbound on I-82 "possibly exiting between Granger (Exit 58) and Toppenish (Exit 50)."
It's unknown if the victim and the suspects knew each other or had contact with each other before the shooting.
A SIMPLE CALL TO AUTHORITIES COULD LEAD TO AN ARREST
Were you a witness to the shooting? The Washington State Patrol is hoping to speak to witnesses in hopes of making an arrest or arrests. Thorson says they're also looking for information regarding the vehicle and occupants who fled the scene. Authorities believe there were witnesses to the shooting but they haven't heard from anyone who could help authorities make an arrest.
