It’s all about the Red, White & Blue this weekend as we make our way to the Fourth of July.  Whose rockets show the most red glare?
The personal-finance website WalletHub has released its report on 2017's Most Patriotic States in America.

Without looking at the list , I would imagine states with a strong military presence, states with more rural and smaller populations and states that lean right.

WalletHub compared the 50 states across 13 indicators of patriotism.  Within their parameters, Washington state came in at a respectable No. 6.

Virginia with its military, military history and proximity to the nation’s capital is No. 1, followed by Alaska, Wyoming, South Carolina and Colorado.

 Washington represents!

  • 7th – Active-Duty Military Personnel per 1,000 Civilian Adult Population
  • 3rd – Peace Corps Volunteers per Capita
  • 12th – % of Adults Who Voted in 2016 Presidential Election
  • 17th – Volunteer Rate
  • 11th – Veterans per 1,000 Civilian Adult Population
  • 1st – Civics Education Requirement
  • 8th – Volunteer Hours per Resident
