How's this for a safety headline? Free lock boxes and trigger locks to be given away Saturday, May 18.
Sounds pretty socially responsible doesn't it. Seattle Children’s Hospital is partnering with Virginia Mason Memorial, Yakima Health District and other community organizations to give away 350 free lock boxes and 50 trigger locks to encourage safe firearm storage in homes in the Yakima valley.
The giveaway will take place at Coastal Farm & Ranch, 2112 South 1st Street, Yakima,WA
With limited supplies it’s first come, first served from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. (or until supplies run out) and recipients will need to be 18 years of age or older - one item per person, two per household.
The idea behind the giveaway is to raise awareness about the importance and effectiveness of safe firearm storage and to help prevent firearm-related incidents and suicide among children and teens.
