VFW Working To Rebuild Local Post

Last June the Yakima Veterans of Foreign Wars Post at 5th Avenue and Walnut was gutted by fire. Since then work has been underway to remove a large amount of asbestos used in the construction of the old building. City officials say while there's a lot of work that needs to be done to the building it hasn't been condemned. VFW officials say they've settled with the insurance company and they're now working with contractors to determine the cost of rebuilding the VFW club at the current site.
