Veteran Receives New Van At 9/11 Ceremony Tuesday

A veteran from Naches was given a gift by the Yakima VFW Post 379 on Tuesday. Debra Ward received a handicapped equipped wheelchair van that was donated by the family of Sandra Rotter of Mattawa who died in April but wanted her van to be donated to a local veteran. Ward is a Army veteran who served from 1979-1986. She was handed the keys to the van after the post held a ceremony recognizing the 17th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.
