Utility Work Closes Part Of East Yakima Avenue Wednesday

Yakima city crews are busy with utility Wednesday resulting in the closure of the eastbound lanes on East Yakima Avenue between South 2nd Street and South 3rd Street.  Work on the project will happen from 5:00 am to 3:30 pm.
Because of heavy traffic volume, drivers can expect delays in the project area. Drivers should use alternate routes if possible until the work is completed.
Drivers are reminded that the speed limit through all traffic-related works zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.
Access to homes and businesses in the project area will be maintained as best as possible and emergency vehicles will be allowed through the project area if necessary.
Drinking water customers in this area will experience a temporary water outage throughout the day while repairs are being made to water main.
