Whats the old saying about disruption? You have to break a few eggs to make an omelet?  Same is true for road construction.

According to the Sate Department of Transportation (WSDOT), by the end of the summer, the Interstate 82 interchange in south Union Gap will have a new look

WSDOT along with contractor Hamilton Construction (Springfield, Oregon) are working to improve access by constructing a full interchange with additional ramps allowing traffic on eastbound I-82 to access south Main Street and drivers will be able to travel west on I-82 from south Union Gap. Currently, south Union Gap only has an eastbound on-ramp to I-82 and a westbound off-ramp to Main Street.

Here's your broken eggs -motorists will experience detours, lane shifts and occasional lane and ramp closures from early April until the fall.

Message boards along the highway will notify travelers in an advance of traffic revisions. During construction, drivers will be able to access businesses and homes including Fullbright Park and Leisure Hill Drive.
