In Washington State, you can get all kinds of customized license plates to spiffy up your ride. We've come a long way since the days of yesteryear when license plates were a solid green with white lettering. (For a time, they were a solid black with white letters, too, and now they're available as a "throwback" plate.)

Out with the old and in with the new license plates? There are a few rules for disposing some license plates in Washington State, so make sure you know what the current regulations are before you toss that old plate in the trash or put in a recycle bin!
Where to Get Customized Plates in WA State
After you find the custom plate you want, see how much it costs from your local licensing place and then fill out the DOL's Special Interests Special Design License Plate application. (You can fill it out online and print it at home.)
There is a different rate depending on the type of vehicle you want the license plate on, like a passenger car, truck, motorcycle, or a trailer.
Keep in mind, custom plates have different prices for renewals.
