Yakima Fire Department officials say two people were injured in a fire Saturday night in a double-wide manufactured home in the 2700 block of Fruitvale Blvd. Firefighters were called to the fire at about 6:45 p.m. Saturday. When they arrived they found the home fully involved in fire with neighbors pulling the resident from the fire. A news release says "the occupant, a 58-year-old man, sustained second and third-degree burns over 60 percent of his body. He was immediately transported to a local hospital and transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

One of the neighbors sustained a second-degree burn on the bottom of his foot when he stepped on a hot ember while pulling the occupant from the fire. Two other neighbors then assisted in pulling the occupant further away from the structure. The injured neighbor was treated at the scene and released. A search of the building by YFD found that one dog had died." The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
