Two people are recovering in hospitals this morning after a possible arson fire early Sunday morning at a home in the 300 block of Murphy Lane in Yakima. Fire units were called to the home at about 5:20 a.m. Sunday. When they arrived firefighters found a large two story home with a basement engulfed in fire on three sides of the building. Three cars in the driveway were also burning. Fire had moved into the attic and roof before crews could get inside the home.

There were four people inside the house when the fire started and firefighters say two were injured trying to escape the flames. Both burn victims were sent to Memorial Hospital and one of the two was flown to Harborview Medical Center for further burn treatment.
Fire crews spent about 30 minutes getting the fire under control. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
