Toppenish School District employees have accepted an offer from administrators for an 18.5 percent pay increase for the 2018/2019 school year. The recent offer from the administration is an increase from the last offer of 8 percent. The latest move by the administration happened after weeks of negotiations and rallies by teachers. The employees contend the districts aren't meeting the state salary requirements under the McCleary decision that was settled in the last legislative session. More rallies are expected in the near future.
