This is the week homeless people in Toppenish will get some food and shelter. Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic and Sunrise Outreach Center of Yakima are working together to open a shelter for 170 homeless on Wednesday. The winter shelter is expected to open at 508 West First Avenue in Toppenish, the former Napa Auto Parts store, currently owned by Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic.
The shelter will be open from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., seven days a week through the end of February.
They need help from the community. If you'd like to donate food or clothing contact Dave Hanson at daveh@socyakima.com or (509) 901-6680.
