Tired of Those Gas Bills? Thinking of Going Electric? You’re Not Alone
Thinking about buying an electric vehicle? More and more people are now contemplating the purchase. Electric vehicle sales accounted for 19 percent of all vehicle purchases in Washington state last year which is a 6 percent increase from 2022.
THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION HAS SET A BIG GOAL FOR 2030 AND SO HAS WA STATE
That's good news for the Biden administration which has set a goal making 50 percent of all car sales electric by the year 2030. All new vehicles in Washington state must produce zero emissions by the year 2035. If you've been in the market for an electric vehicle you know there economic incentives pushing you to buy but state officials say tax incentives and tax credits aren't pushing sales as much as expected.
THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE SIMPLE WHERE DO WE CHARGE UP?
So what's the problem? What's holding Americans back from going electric? Many drivers say it's the lack of charging stations available. The national infrastructure for charging stations isn't growing fast enough and that has a lot of drivers concerned about where they could charge up. As a result many automakers have slowed EV development hoping to see more confidence in buyers in the future.
SALES ARE UP IN WA? WONDER WHY?
But while sales are down in other parts of U.S. state ecology officials say Washington is seeing higher levels of EV sales than the national average. Some say it's the high cost of gas in Washington state that's pushing many people to consider an electric vehicle.
