Ballots are due today for voters in the City of Yakima and in Selah, East Valley, and Wapato. But the focus of this election is the change of government question on the ballot for Yakima voters. Yakima voters are being asked to change from the Council Manager form to a Strong Mayor form of government. It's an issue that's been pushed by Yakima Valley Business Times Publisher Bruce Smith who says the city needs an elected mayor not a manager. But opponents like former mayor Mary Place says Smith is wrong. She says it takes a manager not a politician to handle city business.

The two sides have squared off in debates and street signs. Now it's your turn. Ballots are due in the Auditors office at 8 tonight. All the bond measures require a supermajority 60 percent approval for passage.

Voters in East Valley, Selah and Wapato are voting on school bond measures.
