Kittitas County is one of the first counties in the state to use technology to help speed up the building process.

Mike Flory is a certified plans examiner for Kittitas County and the person who helped create the new system in which building inspectors now carry tablets to the field and file paperwork electronically. He says before the new system was implemented,

If builders weren’t on sight or could be present for the inspection they either had to go there themselves or send someone to get the results of the inspection.

Flory says the new system allows builders to continue their work without having to chase paperwork.

Inspection results are available on a county website builders can access from the field. The new system cost the county about $20,000.
