Taya Kyle Visiting Yakima, Supporting Work Of YWCA
Taya Kyle was in Yakima Monday as the keynote speaker at the 2017 YWCA Leadership Lunch at the Yakima Convention Center.
During a morning tour of Persimmon, the YWCA resale boutique and gift shop at Westpark Shopping Center, Kyle praised the work the YWCA does to help women in the Yakima area.
"I know that everyone struggles in life and we need other people to help boost us out of it, so I love the work the YWCA is doing."
Kyle has been through a lot of struggles herself, including the loss of her husband, U.S. Navy SEAL Sniper Chris Kyle.
Since his death in 2013, she has become an author and speaker for issues close to her. Her book, "American Wife" is a New York Times best-seller and the movie "American Sniper," based on her husband's autobiography by the same name, was hugely popular at the box office.
