Democrat Sylvia Hammond is running against ...well, against the Republican Party, just who exactly isn't clear.  On the ballot her opponent is incumbent Matt Manweller who has agreed to step down after the election if he should win.

Manweller was a professor at Central Washington University but was placed on leave this past year as it launched an investigation into inappropriate sexual behavior.  He is suing the University for 2 million dollars.  Manweller also stepped down from his position as assistant floor leader in the House where he was asked to resign.  He says he's holding on to the spot - should he win - for a Republican to be named later as his replacement.

One thing we do know for sure.  Sylvian Hammond would like your vote for a fresh approach.  The appeared on the Morning News recently to make her case.
