Local stores and companies are stepping forward to help in the COVID-19 battle.
Standard Paint and Flooring in Yakima has donated 500 masks for medical personnel at Virginia Mason Memorial. A news release from the company says medical professionals around the country have put out pleas for respirators to protect doctors and nurses.
The respirators, known as N95 masks are not only used by doctors and nurses but also builders and contractors.
Craig Myers, one of the owners of Standard Paint and Flooring says when they were asked if they had any he says they pulled the entire stock to donate to the hospital. Myers encourages other businesses to help out any way possible.
