So Far So Good At White Pass Ski Area

The General Manager of the White Pass Ski Area says the beginning of the season has been an adjustment with the COVID-19 restrictions in place at ski areas all over the northwest. Kevin McCarthy says opening day, November 27 and the weekend that followed was a challenging time because many people were not wearing masks in the chairlift lines. He says he's had to place employees near chairlift lines to remind people masks are a requirement.
However he says people have adjusted and now realize wearing a mask is key to keeping the area open and COVID free.
McCarthy says "my goal is to keep my 200 employees on the job so we can all enjoy a long ski and riding season"
He says it took a couple of days for people to adjust to the new rules and he says as long as people continue to mask up, use cars as a lodge he's confident the White Pass Ski Area will remain open for the entire season.
COVID-19 restrictions for the ski area mean the lodge is closed and masks are a requirement while in a chairlift line.
