September is prostate cancer awareness month.
It's a time when men are being encouraged to talk with doctors and get checked for what could be a deadly illness. Jim Miller of Yakima knows all about early detection. Miller is a prostate cancer survivor. He found his cancer through a routine check, a cancer that had no symptoms.

Yakima has a prostate cancer support group that meets the second Wednesday of the month from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The group meets at the Harman Center on North 65th Avenue. The Next meeting is set for September 11.
