There's a second case of vaping related lung injury in Yakima. The Yakima Health District announced a second case on Tuesday.
A news release says the case is part of a national outbreak and Yakima Health District is working closely with the Washington State Department of Health (DOH) as well as national health officials.
There are currently 22 cases in Washington state. Nationally, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has reported 2,602 cases including 57deaths.
Health district officials say "the only commonality among all cases nationally is that patients use e-cigarettes or vapor products. CDC has identified vitamin E acetate as a chemical of concern among people with vaping associated lung injury, but does not know enough yet to rule out other possible causes."
