Meet Sawyer, a fun, sweet, strong, and adorable kid who is our CMN Miracle Family of the month for May.

Sawyer's story began when he was born as a preemie. He entered the world 8 weeks early, weighing only 3 pounds 7 ounces.

Sawyer is thriving today and he loves things like playing with LEGOs, eating ice cream and tacos, drawing, and taking walks on the trail with the family dog.

After Sawyer's surprising early world debut, he was placed into an isolette incubator at the MultiCare Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital's neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).

This is something similar to the incubators hospitals use for preemies like Sawyer had when he was born 8 weeks early.

Machines like these incubators cost thousands of dollars. With technology changing, you can imagine the exorbitant costs hospitals and clinics must endure to continue providing children with special needs the urgent care they need.

Sawyer spent many days and nights in the NICU being fed through a feeding tube.

He spent three (3) months in the hospital before he was allowed to come home. Sawyer's parents no doubt went through much emotional stress and worry every moment of every day, hoping that the doctors and nurses could keep their baby alive and healthy until he was well enough to be released.

Today, Sawyer is 13 years old and thriving like a little champ, thanks to the loving and dedicated care he and his family received from the hospital and with the additional support of Children's Miracle Network!

Please save up for a donation to our annual Memorial Foundation Radiothon that's coming up in October on NewsTalk 1280 KIT & 101.3 FM. Each dollar of your donation will help local families in Central Washington, like Sawyer, get additional care and support that isn't covered by their medical insurance!
