They say that all good things must come to an end. In the case of Rite Aid, this is sadly going to be true for a bunch of those Rite Aid stores closing in Washington, California, Oregon, and nationwide.

Rite Aid, the nation’s 3^rd largest drugstore chain has filed Chapter 11 Bankruptcy. The company will be shuttering or selling off locations in at least 12 states.

Which States Have Rite Aid Stores Closing?

The Pacific Northwestern states Rite Aid Stores proposed to close include California (31 stores), Oregon (1), Washington (11), and Idaho (2).

As a longtime Rite Aid customer, I’m pleased my preferred Rite Aid location is going to remain open, at least for now.

Many fellow Rite Aid fans agree that the stores offer a great selection of a wide variety of items, from personal care products to household goods, seasonal offerings for lawn and garden, holiday decorations, and a very nice wine selection.

Of course, having a long-term relationship with a trusted pharmacist adds to the loyalty of customers, as has the reward points system where frequent shoppers can earn up to 20% discounts off many items.

Selfishly, I’m hoping that Rite Aid can get things turned around and preserve the remaining stores and employees’ jobs. If all else fails, there are still your local hometown pharmacist as well as other chain pharmacies, like Walgreens and CVS.
