Get ready for lower prices.

Agri-Pulse is reporting that economists at the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) a Paris-based group of analysts who work with the UN Food and Ag Organizaiton say that the decline in prices for food and feed crops, livestock and fish products are evidence that an “era of high prices is quite likely over for all sub-sectors.” The 10-year outlook sees growth in demand for food slowing progressively even as demand for meat, fish and dairy product continues to be strong. That, in turn creates additional demand for feed in the form of coarse grains and protein meals.

General Mills, meantime, is expanding its recall of raw flour to include flour produced on more dates after new illnesses possibly linked to the product were reported. This is the third time that the recall, first announced in May, has been expanded.

The National Association of Wheat Growers is reminding producers that the application deadline is looming for its inaugural wheat yield contest.The deadline for submissions of winter wheat yields has already passed, but for spring wheat you have until Monday (Aug. 1) to enter online.
