We see them on TV and in the movies all the time. Those cold-hearted, mean, uncaring corporate bosses have to be modeled after somebody, right? Turns out they are part cartoon and part real people too!

Canadian researchers have proven the old adage that power corrupts.  A study of leaders and the CEOs found that the climb to the top can actually cause brain damage resulting in the loss of the ability to read other people’s emotions.  One casualty of that is that people with great power can’t feel empathy for those with less power.

Study leader conclude that “power” has a significant effect on behavior.

So that jerk boss probably didn’t start out that way, but the process of becoming the boss is simultaneously the process of becoming a jerk! (Daily Mail)
