SEATTLE (AP) — The chief executive of the Port of Seattle has been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.

The Seattle Times reports that King County prosecutors filed charges Monday against 56-year-old Ted Fick.

Documents say police pulled Fick over at about 8:30 p.m. April 13 as he was crossing the Highway 520 bridge. Police say Fick was driving 79 mph in a 50 mph zone.

Fick reportedly told officers he was driving home from a retirement party at the Port of Seattle where he had a glass of wine. Documents say Fick's blood alcohol content was approximately .097. The legal limit is .08.

Through his attorney, Fick said in a statement he was cooperative during the stop.

Fick was named the port's CEO in 2014. At the time of his hiring, Fick was paid $350,000 per year.
