An autopsy is set for Thursday on the body of a 39-year-old Yakima man shot in a gang shooting Tuesday night. Yakima Police Capt. Jay Seely says the victim, identified as  Danny Branscomb, was shot while driving his car in the intersection of 6th Avenue and Gordon Road. A suspect in another vehicle fired shots that struck the Branscomb in the head. The suspects fled the area and the victim's wife called 911 to say her husband had been shot by someone in a passing car. Seely says Branscomb was transported to a Yakima hospital where he died.
Seely says detectives from the Yakima Police Department’s Major Crimes and Gang Unit are investigating the death. He says he doesn't believe the shooting was random. Seely says " We believe the victim may have been targeted because of his gang affiliation."

An autopsy is set for Thursday.
