LINDENWOLD, N.J. (AP) — He got the boot for not wearing shoes. Now, a homeless man has a new pair of boots thanks to a New Jersey transit police officer. Officer Kenya Joyner was on patrol when he was flagged down by a PATCO bus driver. The driver said a disruptive passenger wasn't wearing shoes. It was cold and Joyner learned the man didn't have any. So, the officer took him to Payless and bought the man a pair of boots for about 50 bucks. Joyner tells KYW-TV the "gentlemen simply was on hard times." A video of the act of kindness has gone viral. Joyner says many other officers would have done the same.
