Police are looking for a man suspected of shooting another man in downtown Yakima earlier this morning.

Officers got the call from the Red Apple Motel at around 1:10 Thursday morning.

When police arrived, the 54-year-old victim was waiting in the lobby with two gunshot wounds to his stomach.

The victim told officers he was in an alleyway, when a man walked up to him and told him to hand over his possessions.

When the victim said no, the man pulled out a semi-automatic pistol and shot him several times.

The suspect then ran away.

They transported the victim to the hospital. He remained conscious and alert.

Police are still looking for the suspect, who is described as a white or light-skinned Hispanic man about five-foot-six and stocky.

He was wearing a blue bandana over his face and a light plaid shirt and blue jeans.

If you have any information call the Yakima Police.
