Police Investigate West Valley Carjacking

Yakima Police continue to investigate a carjacking in West Valley Wednesday that left a 46 year old man with serious injuries. The unidentified man is recovering at a Yakima hospital. A suspect arrested in the case is expected to make an appearance in court later Today.

Police say the victim was robbed of his wallet and vehicle and was found unresponsive in the street at about 5:20 Wednesday morning in the 200 block of South 81st Avenue. The victims vehicle was found on Highway 12 about 3 hours after the incident. The suspect was arrested near Tieton driving a stolen vehicle. Items from the carjacking were found in that vehicle. The suspect is being held in the Yakima county jail.
