The opioid crisis is killing Americans. In fact the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates every day, more than 130 people in the United States die after overdosing on opioids.

Experts will be talking about the crisis starting Wednesday in Yakima. Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences is hosting a summit called "Trauma and the Opioid Crisis: Coming Together to Advance Prevention , Care and Recovery." It starts on Wednesday with a forum at Eisenhower High School set for 6:00 p.m. The event is entitled "Understanding Your Teen and the Opioid Crisis." it's free and open to the community.
The summit continues at  PNWU on Thursday and Friday where registration is required. Contact the school 452-5100 for more information.
