Senator Patty Murray will make a visit to Yakima today. She'll meet with veterans at the Yakima VFW this afternoon during what she's calling a listening session. Murray will talk about her efforts to improve veterans care and benefits nationwide. Murray is chairman of the Veterans’ Affairs Committee. Senator Murray will use the stories and suggestions she hears today to bring local veterans concerns to Washington, D.C. The senator will also tour Adams Elementary School and host a roundtable discussion with superintendents and other education stakeholders on local challenges and to discuss her efforts to reform and reauthorize the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) to benefit schools throughout Washington State and nationwide.
