There's nothing worse than needing something from the grocery store only to find out that it's closed for a few hours.

While this sort of thing doesn't happen much, it will be happening this year for thousands of Walmart shoppers, including those of us living in Oregon and Washington.

There are around 43 Walmart locations in Oregon and 64 in Washington State. Some 36,000 employees make up the number of associates who work there and they help the company generate millions of dollars in revenue.

Corporate execs at Walmart are showing their appreciation for all of their employees this year by giving them an extra day off work - with pay.

The richest woman in America, Alice Walton of Walmart, Inc., lives in Arkansas. The headquarters of the Walmart Family behemoth is in the town of Bentonville, Arkansas.

Walmart, the world's largest money-making company, was founded by Sam Walton in 1962, and he passed his billion-dollar legacy down to his children.

Walmart Gives Employees a Paid Day Off

Many national chain stores have been closing on holidays since the COVID pandemic, and Walmart decided to follow suit. This year, stores in WA and OR, along with other Walmart stores across the nation will be closed for 24 hours for Thanksgiving. The stores will reopen just in time for all those Black Friday sales you've been waiting for.
