5 Yakima Valley Area Restaurants and More Open on Christmas Day 2024
If you're the type who doesn't celebrate holidays or just simply hates cooking on holidays, then this one's for you.
That's right, not everybody is jumping for joy with the Christmas Spirit, whether it's for religious reasons or Grinchy reasons. The thought of all the stores closing down early for Christmas Eve or altogether for Christmas Day makes them roll their eyes, and I get it: it's highly inconvenient if you need to grab something from the store or want to get some food to-go.
Don't fret, there are several available options for those who need somewhere to go on Christmas Day in the Yakima Valley.
We'll start off with something persons 18+ can do, and that's head to Legends Casino Hotel in Toppenish.
From 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., you can hit up the legendary Christmas Buffet. It's all you can eat! The special holiday menu includes options like Beef Wellington, Lobster Tail, Dungeness Crab, baked ziti, a crepe station, and more--including Mexican food-inspired octopus and shrimp agua chile.
Legends Casino Hotel is located at 580 Fort Rd. in Toppenish.
Other places open on Christmas in the Valley include Denny's, Mr. Pizza, Jean's Cottage Inn, Starbucks, Tasty Wok, McDonald's, Glam Co. Coffee (1001 W Washington Ave), and Red Lobster.
Mr. Pizza cooks their pies on a stone oven. Located at 2019 Fruitvale Ave.
Keep in mind that each of these places will have special holiday hours, so don't expect them to be open the entire business day.
If you'd prefer to have fun doing activities instead of eating on Christmas Day, remember that the movies are always open on holidays. This would be a great time to see the new family-friendly movie releases (like Wicked, Best Christmas Pageant Ever, Moana 2, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, and Mufasa), or Gladiator II, Kraven, and Dirty Angels, if you're looking for more adult-centered action features.
Some local Yakima bowling centers will be open (with limited hours so check before you go).
White Pass Ski Resort is also open on Christmas Day, so grab those ski coats and head to the lodge!
