Yakima Health District officials say two cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Yakima County. On Wednesday more details were released about the two cases. Health officials say one patient is in their 80’s and another patient is in their 60’s. Both individuals were not hospitalized and are currently recovering in their homes. A news release from the district says 8 people who were exposed to the virus after attending an event in Moxee were tested and immediately self-isolated.  Of the eight tests that were conducted, two have come back positive, five were negative, and results on the last test related to the cluster are expected in the next few days. District officials are in contact with any individuals who are identified as having been in close contact with the two positive cases.
More testing by commercial labs and the Yakima Health District could mean more cases will be identified in the near future as the district continues to monitor the community.
