The Yakima County Auditors office and state officials are urging those who aren't voters to register to vote in the November general election. Yakima County Auditor Charles Ross tells KIT News the deadline is approaching.
"State law allows people to register until October 9th."
Ross says ballots for county voters begin arriving on October 20. But members of the military, even here in Yakima, receive ballots much earlier on September 22.
It's a busy ballot in Yakima with city council races in  council Districts 2, 4 and 6 and city and county positions and issues for voters throughout the Yakima Valley.
