On this day in 1964 LBJ beat Barry Goldwater unleashing the “Great Society” including the War on Poverty expanding civil rights, voting rights, Medicaid, Medicare  and other hallmarks of modern liberalism….so Thanks LBJ.  How has that war on poverty worked out?

1992, Arkansas Governor Bill Clinton won the 1992 presidential election, defeating President George H. W. Bush unleashing Monica Lewinsky and Hillary on the nation.  You thought respect for the office sagged under LBJ!
