Need A Job? WorkSource Yakima Has The Hook Up If You Want To Work

There must be a better word for it.  Maybe you lost your job, maybe COVID got you laid off, maybe it's your first job, or maybe you just need a better job, but either way, a job search is a serious business.

JOB FAIR

The word I question is "Fair".  While I don't currently have a better term,  I have always felt that the phrase "job fair" was a little too casual for how important a job is to those who want to work.  (where's the cotton candy?)

But my semantic rant aside, the South Central Workforce Council and WorkSource Yakima will host a job fair from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., August 18 at the Yakima Convention Center, 10 N 8th Street in downtown Yakima.

Help & Registration

The job fair is free to job seekers 18 and up and job seekers are asked to come ready to network with resumes in hand. So what if it is your first job and you don't have a resume or maybe you are looking to forget the past and start a fresh work history? If you need help with your resume, WorkSource Yakima is offering free Job Fair workshops ahead of time. Brilliant!

Who's Coming?

WorkSource CEO,  Amy Martinez, says, "We expect 49 businesses who are actively hiring for part and full-time positions to participate...There are plenty of opportunities for people who want to work.”  There is still a little more room if your business wants to participate. COVID Careful

Organizers say COVID-19 safety protocol will be observed,  tables will be socially distanced, and anyone not fully vaccinated will be required to wear a mask inside the center. And in tune with the times, as you might imagine, masks are strongly suggested for all participants regardless of vaccination status.
