It's hard to believe that after tonight's (Aug. 15) get-together on historic North Front Street there will be just one more installment of Downtown Summer Nights, the 10-week music showcase now in its seventh year.

Taking the stage around 7:15 p.m. and headlining this evening's entertainment will be Matt Brown. Matt has Northwest roots, but currently resides in Music City -- Nashville. Matt has opened for heavy hitters like Chris Isaak, Huey Lewis, Train and Michael Franti. Brown recently completed performing on a cruise with Jon Bon Jovi and Collective Sou.

He has been described as "an old soul, with a voice seasoned by influences such as Ray Charles and Bill Withers and guitar styling steeped in the tradition of Eric Clapton and John Mayer. Brown’s songs are fresh but familiar and tend to move the heart as much as the head and feet."

Opening for him will be the trio voted as Yakima's Best Band in 2018, Jayleigh Ann & The Lost Boys. They'll hit the stage at 6 p.m.

Downtown Summer Nights opens the gates at 5:30 and is both kid- and pet-friendly.
