What's to come for the Christmas season?  According to an online article at wwd., Deloitte's 34th annual holiday survey finds shoppers are expecting to spend $1,496 per household this Christmas season.

Just as the article about spending is on-line,so too the majority of that money will be spent on-line. Deloitte's expects 59 percent of shopper's budgets to be spent via online shopping and in an emerging trend, much of that spent via cell phones.

Contrary to the ghosts of Christmas's past, shoppers this year claim they will put the bulk of their holiday cheer into spending on experiences and celebrations, including entertaining at home, traveling, and eating at restaurants.

Other findings from the shopping survey:

More than Twenty-five percent of holiday spending will go to socializing away from home.

Eighty-one percent admit they are susceptible to promotions and discounts

Eighty -five percent put free shipping at the top of their discount wish list-- above fast shipping.
