The sentencing in a double murder case from 2016 in Yakima starts at 9:00 A.M. Friday in Yakima County Superior Court. Manuel Verduzco of Selah faces a sentence of life in prison without parole after a jury last month found him guilty of two counts of first degree aggravated murder in the March 2016 shooting deaths of Marta Martinez and Karina Morales-Rodriguez. The two were employees at the MoneyTree in Yakima and had just arrived for work when they were shot dead. Prosecutors say Verduzco shot the women while in the process of robbing the business.
And while Verduzco faces an automatic sentence of life in prison victims are expected to address the court before Judge Michael McCarthy imposes the sentence later Friday.
