Man Riding Scooter Killed Trying To Cross SR 823

An 86-year-old man from Selah was killed Monday after he was struck by a vehicle as he was riding a scooter crossing State Route 823 north of Selah.

Washington State Patrol troopers say Hayden Morrison was riding a mobility scooter crossing the highway at Taylor Loop Road when he was struck by a Suburban driven by a driver from Selah.

Morrison died at a local hospital. The other driver was not injured. The crash was reported at about 11:40 a.m. Monday.
