THE MAN WAS FOUND DRIVING THE TRUCK WITH FLASHING LIGHTS
The incident happened last Wednesday when a Yakima police officer was patrolling near North Front Street. The officer noticed the suspect's truck, which was flashing red and blue lights that resembled those used by law enforcement, causing drivers to pull over. As the officer began to follow the vehicle, it sped off, prompting a brief pursuit.

AFTER POLICE FOUND THE TRUCK THE DRIVER CAME FORWARD
According to documents from the Yakima County Prosecutor's Office The truck was later found abandoned with its driver-side door open in an area on North 4th Avenue. Shortly afterward, the suspect returned to the scene and admitted to officers that he was driving the vehicle. He claimed he was borrowing the truck and was unaware that the lights were on when he passed a police patrol vehicle before fleeing and jumping out of the vehicle.
THE SUSPECT EXPECTED TO BE IN COURT THIS WEEK
The truck was towed away, and the suspect was taken into custody and booked into the Yakima County jail. Records reveal that the suspect has a lengthy criminal history, including 12 prior felony convictions and 15 gross misdemeanor convictions. The man is expected to be charged in Yakima County Superior Court this week.
