Man Arrested For Killing Wife After Children Report Her Missing
A 44-year-old man is sitting in the Yakima County Jail Today facing a murder charge after authorities say the remains of his wife were found burned Friday at a home in Granger. The body of 37-year-old Maria Gonzalez-Castillo was found by her children after they reported her missing from her home in the 1600 of Nass Road in the Granger. Sheriff's deputies say Gonzalez-Castillo was arguing with her intoxicated husband last Thursday night. The children reported that when the children awoke Friday morning their father was gone and their mother could not be located. Her remains were found burned on the property.
The 44-year-old suspect is facing a murder charge in Yakima County Superior Court as the investigation continues today. The children are now with relatives. No other injuries were reported.
