Lower Valley 3-Year-Old Shot in the Head

A three-year-old was shot in the head in Sunnyside Monday night. Police say the child was driven to Sunnyside Community Hospital around 9:30 Sunday night but then was transferred to a Seattle hospital. Police believe the child was shot accidentally while riding in a car near Yakima Valley Highway and East Edison Avenue. The boy is listed in critical condition. Police impounded the car and gun as part of their investigation that continues today.
