Lots Of New Voters In Yakima county And State

The Yakima County Auditors office saw a big surge in new voter registrations from last weekend says Auditor Charles Ross. He says they're still processing the requests but he says they're looking at 1750 to 1900 new registrations. "I think Yakima County was one of the large counties that helped the state achieve a new record on line."  Statewide a new record 27, 601 voters registered to vote online by the deadline Monday at midnight. Today nearly 4.2 million people are registered voters in the state of Washington. Here in Yakima County 111,619 people are registered to vote. Because the state doesn't require people to declare a party when they register there's no way to know how many republicans and how many democrats become new voters.
