After days of high water and flooding Yakima city crews re-opened roads and allowed people back into homes and other properties in the Lake Aspen area on Sunday. Yakima city spokesman Randy Beehler says in a news release "With power having been restored to homes, apartments, and offices in the Willow Lake and Lake Aspen areas, owners and tenants have been allowed to reoccupy structures that were evacuated last week due to flooding."
This week it's cleanup time for the hundreds of residents that have been impacted by the high water throughout the city and county. And with a lot more snow still in the mountains it's possible more flooding could happen in the future. Construction companies have already been busy trying to dry out conditions for people while area hotels and motels have seen an increase because people needed a place to stay.
