Tired of all the garbage around Yakima?

The group Keep Yakima Clean continues efforts to clean up areas of Yakima and a big event is planned for Saturday. Members of Keep Yakima Clean are partnering with Yakima's Camp Hope to clean up three different areas on Saturday and you are invited to help out. The event starts at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Camp Hope located at 2300 East Birch Street in Yakima. You'll have a chance to help in any of three areas where the groups will pick up litter. One of the areas is the Yakima Greenway in the area of 6th Avenue where it intersects with Gordon Road. Organizers say they'll be cleaning up abandoned encampments. They say the clean up should only involve adults and no kids. The second location is behind Panda Express on South 1st Street next to Grocery Outlet. If you have kids who want to help organizers say this is an ideal location along with the third area set to be cleaned up on Saturday. The third spot is accessed through the parking lot of Moulin Brew in Union Gap. The area to be cleaned up is behind the business. You can either show up at one of the sites or be at Camp Hope at 8:30 a.m. Saturday. If you can't help clean up but would like to donate bags, water you can drop off supplies at Camp Hope at 2300 East Birch Street in Yakima.
You can find more information and get involved with the group on the Keep Yakima Clean Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/groups/755218455351266
