Yakima’s 1UP Games New Location and New Opening Date is Set
About $300,000 worth of inventory lost.
That's what Alex Smith, owner of 1up Games in Yakima, said.
About 80% of their inventory at their store was destroyed when a structure fire set everything ablaze inside including all of the video games, consoles, DVDs, Funko Pops and so much more. And not just the fire but the sprinkler systems caused water damage to a lot of the inventory as well.
Fortunately, all of the employees were safe.
Some was salvageable, but not enough to just reopen somewhere else.
Fortunately, after many months of hard work and with a newly replenished stock, 1up Games is finally set to reopen soon.
New Location Grand Opening February 10, 2026
Though 1UP Games has been closed for a while with everyone eager to visit again, you won't have to wait much longer.
The opening date is set for February 10th at their new location in Rainier Square off 26th and Nob Hill.
There'll be brand new inventory on the shelves for all consoles like Nintendo Switch, Xbox, Playstation, and even older consoles like SNES, Genesis, and more.
They're also looking to buy your games as well so if you're getting things ready for the coming yard sale season, bring your games to 1UP Games and they'll take them off your hands for cash or trade-in credit.
Here's a look inside the new store so far. They're still still moving stuff around and organizing but come February 10th they'll be read to open their doors to the public.
