Music in the Park This Friday Evening: Franklin Park’s Sunset Concert Series on 7/17
- TL;DR: Each week, a new band plays at the concert series at Yakima's Franklin Park every Friday in July, and the first two Fridays in August!
Yakima Parks and Rec is hosting Friday evening concerts with the Franklin Park Sunset Concert Series, presented by Colonial Lawn & Garden. These two-hour concerts are held each Friday night in July and the first two Fridays in August from 6 to 8 p.m.
We're lucky that we have two fun and FREE live music concerts for the public, from Yakima Federal Downtown Summer Nights to the City of Yakima's Franklin Park Sunset Concert Series. Each of them has their own schedules.
It's the Town's 'Sunset Cocktails' Minus Patricia
You won't see an invite from Patricia (Widow's Bay fans will catch the reference), but you can bring your own (non-alcoholic) mocktails and picnic foods to the park. You're bound to see somebody you know and/or haven't seen in a while, so come looking cute!
Bring your picnic dinner and a blanket or lawn chair. Relax and listen to great music in a beautiful park! - The City of Yakima

Who's Playing This Friday at the Park?
Die Bruder, a classic rock and oldies band that Yakima locals love, are excited to play on the park's Rotary Pavillion stage this Friday night. I've seen them promoting the concert on their Facebook page.
They know how to get the crowds swaying in their seats and dancing barefoot with their young kids and babies.
If you plan on going to the concert in the park, make sure you wear some comfy shoes and get there kinda early so that you can get a good parking spot!
Can You Bring Your Doggies to Franklin Park?
Yep, dogs are welcome at Franklin Park concert series (if they're on a leash, that is).
If you bring your adorable pup out in this heat, PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS GOOD AND DECENT bring them a bowl for water and some treats, because it gets really hot out here in the late afternoons, even in the shade.
